- Denman Island Economic Enhancement Committee. (DICEEC)
Mandate is to take a leadership role in the development and implementation of solutions to socio-economic issues facing the people of Denman Island. DICEEC will assist in the planning and organization of actions to achieve appropriate enhancement goals defined by Denman Islanders.

- Denman Island Volunteer Fire Dept. (DIVFD)
Provides community fire protection under contract with CVRD. Provides First Responder assistance to Emergency Health Services in removing injured persons from a building or a motor vehicle accident, Search and Rescue, disaster assistance, public education about fire prevention and safety, implementation of burning regulations. burning permits and fire danger status warnings, training of volunteer fire fighters.

- Waste Management Committee (WMC) Coordinates activities related to recycling and waste collection. Promotes waste reduction through education about the 3 Rs (reducing reusing, recycling) Manages the Recycling Depot, Reusable Store and Bottle Depot. WMC is under contract with with CVRD.

- Pesticide Free Committee shall seek information, explore options and develop a plan of action for encouraging Denman Island to be pesticide free, and promote toxic free living to the greatest extent possible. The committee shall develop a plan to provide information about pesticides and alternatives to pesticide use in the community . Chair: Peter Thomsen
- Denman Island Dock Committee: Committee mandate is to acquire the Lease on Water Lot 257 for the purposes of building a Community Emergency Dock. Chair: John Johnston
- Membership Committee: The objective of the Membership committee is to promote DIRA membership and encourage community participation and understanding of DIRA’s role in the community.
- Old School Committee: Administration, coordination and management of Marcus Isbister Old School Centre. This committee is completely self supporting from revenue received from the property tenants which include Waste Management , Denman Conservancy Associatoin, DI Spinners & Weavers, DIWOS, the Denman Island Local Trust Committee and Farmers Market. The Old School Committee follows the guidelines and principles agreed upon with Islands Trust Council, the title holder. Chair: Gloria Michin
- Parks Committee: (PC) Objective of the Parks Committee is to assist the membership of DIRA in making informed decisions regarding present and proposed Parks.

- Trails Committee: The objective of the trails committee is to plan, build and maintain trails on Denman Island for non motorized recreational, athletic and commuter use by the general public. Where such trails do not follow existing roads the committee’s preference is for single-file, hand-build trails that maintain a rustic rural character.

The Wildlife Advisory Committee (WAC) deals with wildlife concerns on the island. Specifically, it is concerned with the harassment of wildlife by uncontrolled dogs, illegal and unsafe hunting practices, rescuing or otherwise dealing with injured or distressed wildlife, and the confirmation and reporting of sightings of cougars and bears. In any of the above cases, islanders are encouraged to contact one of the following:

The WAC also acts as a central clearing agency for information concerning lost and strayed dogs. These concerns should be addressed to either Cindy Critchley (335-3244) or Chris Danks (335-1838.)
